Any marketing strategist will say there are three things important to a successful business: location, location, location.

That savvy strategy is not wasted on Rick Tuin, owner of Big Sky Business Supply, who jumped at the chance to move from his old location south of town to 904 Utah, the former site of George’s Consignment.

“Oh, it’s huge,” Tuin said Friday afternoon of the benefits of the location just east of McDonalds restaurant. “This is so much better. We’ll even have foot traffic here.”

Tuin started the business in December 2011. It’s his belief that since he has been able to manage his business where there is less traffic, he expects to flourish at his new location.

“That’s for sure,” Tuin said. “It’s better in town.”

Big Sky Business Supply offers various janitorial supplies, which includes just about everything a business would need for a tidy workplace — cleaning supplies, brushes, tools, paper products and more.

Also, his business has branched to offer various party supplies, including favors, themed supplies, napkins, plates various amenities for not only children’s parties but adults as well.

“Yes, we’ve got adult gag gifts, too,” Tuin said.

Standing in an open room Friday still heavily scented with the smell of fresh carpet glue, Tuin said he’s planning to open Tuesday, Aug. 6.

“We’ll be ready. We’ll get it done,” he said. “We’re planning on doing most of the moving on Sunday and setting up on Monday. It’ll be a lot of work, but we’ll be ready.”

Tuin also owns Big Sky Sprinklers, an irrigation and sprinkler business he opened in 2007.

“I’ve been real busy with that. I think this will really take off now,” Tuin said.

Big Sky Business Supply will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They will be closed Sunday.
