Paul G. Evans, 95, of Libby

| April 17, 2013 10:49 AM

Our precious father, Paul G. Evans, 95, passed peacefully in the evening, Thursday, March 28, 2013, in the home of his daughter, Adrian Evans, in Libby.

For those who had the privilege of meeting him, you are a better person.

Dad’s heart had served him well, but became tired and needed a rest, the medical world calling it congestive heart failure. Dad has crossed over to be with mom, Ida Fae Stout Evans.

A son, Thurman Elliott Evans, arrived in Libby from Utah a few days after his death. Both Adrian and Thurman were able to spend sacred moments at the mortuary, with Niles Nelson arranging the time.

Our dad told us many times, he had lived a wonderful life. There will be no funeral service, at his request. There will be a celebration of life on what would have been his 96th birthday, June 8, 2013.

Dad was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and will be buried with military honors at Libby Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the family will continue to celebrate his life with a hot dog roast at 2 p.m. at 107 Post St. in Libby.

Persons who have a memory of Paul, please share it with us and put it in writing for our book of memoirs.
