Elmer Joseph, 84, of Libby

Elmer Joseph, 84, of Libby passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Libby Care Center from natural causes.  

He was born June 15, 1928, in Chicago to Edward and Elsie (Elsner) Joseph.  He grew up in the Chicago area, graduating from Bowen High School.  

In 1949, Elmer joined the U.S. Army and served his country until 1952.  Through the years, he worked for Clark Equipment in Buchanan, Mich.; Shure Brothers Incorporated in Chicago; and for Anchor National Insurance in Phoenix, Ariz., in Information Technology.

Elmer enjoyed restoring old cars with his dad, doing yard work and fishing.  In his down time, he liked classic western movies.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elsie Joseph and brother-in-law Robert Stark, and one step grandson, Victor Briggs.

Survivors include his two sons Ken Joseph (TroyLyn) of Brandon, S.D. and Ronald Joseph of Brandon, S.D.; grandson Phillip Joseph (Molly) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; step-granddaughter Michaelle (Zeb) Gilbertson of Estelline, S.D.; great- grandchildren Ellen, Mary Katherine, and Christopher;  eight step great-grandchildren and sisters Helen Stark of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Alice Perez of Folsom, Calif.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory of Libby.
