The 2011-‘12 Libby Logger boys basketball JV team ended the year with four wins and 12 losses.

Although our record was not great, we saw marked improvement throughout the year.

Due to injuries, our numbers were limited. Depending on the situation, we had four or five players playing all four quarters.

Barak Lapka was our team’s leading scorer. Not only a threat with the ball under the hoop, he also became one of our leading rebounders.

During the latter part of the season, Barak split time between JV and varsity.

Danny Leggins was also a significant contributor. His ability to shoot the 3 pointers made life a little easier for our big guys underneath.

Danny is a player that does not make many mistakes.

In addition, he reads the floor well. We are excited to see him bring his 3-point threat to the varsity team next year.

Will Riechel was our team’s finest defensive player.

He works extremely hard on the defensive end. He was assigned to guard the other team’s best player night after night.

He is the type of player that does not get as much credit as the big scorers, but without him we would not have been as competitive.

Quinn Sullivan made great improvements throughout the year, he played an important roll for this team.

He was able to change the momentum of games with his ability to shoot the ball.

Lane Luscher was the quarterback on the court. As a point guard, he does a great job of bringing the ball up the floor under pressure.

He is an extremely unselfish player; he is always looking to get the ball to someone in a scoring position.

Lane is a fun player to coach as well as watch, he never gives up.

Colin Johnson split time between the froshmore and JV teams. Colin did a commendable job coming off the bench.

We look forward to him having an important role with future Logger teams.

His quickness helps him play tenacious defense and helps him get to the basket on offense.

Isaac Jones also split time with the froshmore and JV teams toward the end of the season; he competed well for us in a couple of close games.

With the loss of some key players to injury, Kraig Nelson juggled time between varsity and JV. We were a better team with Kraig in the game, he’s physical, hard working, and a pleasure to coach.

These future varsity Logger players are fun to coach.

With off-season work and dedication, they will be ready to contribute to the Libby Logger varsity program.
