Robert Fleshman, 89, of Libby

Robert J. Fleshman Sr., 89, of Libby died Friday June 1, 2012, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Mont., from natural causes.  

He was born April 1, 1923, in Blackwell, Okla., to Russell and Elvira (Davidson) Fleshman.  

At an early age, the family moved to Castle Rock, Wash., where Bob grew up and attended school.  He graduated from Castle Rock High School with the class of 1941.  

He married Bernice I. Johnson in 1942 in Long View, Wash.  They made their home in western Washington where, early on, Bob worked as a logger.  

He later went to work as a truck driver delivering fuel.  He delivered fuel for more than 30 years.  

Bob retired in 1984.  

He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed traveling, horses, hunting, shooting trap and training horses and dogs. 

His parents, Russell and Juanita; his wife Bernice; two sisters, Mildred and Doris; a brother Bill and two children Juanita and Robert Jr., preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Judith Nelson, and husband, Bod, of Florence, Ariz.,; Linda Bourdade of Windlock, Wash.; Robert Michael Fleshman and wife, Nora, of Libby; Susan Ogden and husband, Bob, of Kalama, Wash., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private family service will be held at a later date.  

Local arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
