Local tae kwon do students fare well

Students of the Libby Dae Myung tae kwon do school recently attended a tournament in Philipsburg, and the local entrants fared quite well.

Martial artists of the school, which is run by Dan Rose, not only competed but advanced in their studies of tae kwon do.

Neal Kerzman was awarded his second Dan (degree) black belt, and Phil Spencer was awarded his fourth Dan (degree) black belt.

In addition to Kerzman and Spencer, other students also were recognized.

Among them are:  Raiven Mathiason — Poomse first in boys 13- to15-year-olds, blue belt; sparring: first in boys 13- to 15-year-olds in blue/brown belt; Michael Hollingsworth — Poomse first in boys/girls for 9 to10-year-olds,  yellow belt; sparring: third for boys 9- to 10-year-olds in yellow belt; Davd Bailey — Poomse first in boys/girls 8- to 9-year-olds in white belt; Gabriel Hollingsworth — Poomse first in boys/girls 6- to 7-year-olds in white belt; Bella Hollingsworth: —Poomse first in boys/girls 11- to 12-year-olds in yellow/green belt;   sparring: first in girls 11- to 12-year-olds in green belt; Cole Walker — Poomse second boys/girls for 11- to 12-year-olds in yellow/green belts; sparring: second in boys for 11- to 12-year-olds in green-brown belts.
