Bryce Burns, 28, formerly of Troy

| June 5, 2012 7:58 PM

On March 30, 2012, we lost our loving son and a friend to many people.

Bryce Leigh Burns was born Jan. 20, 1984, to Dan Burns and Juanita Adams, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby.

He grew up in Libby, and began his education at Three Lakes Christian School in Troy, Montana.

Upon leaving because of grade limits he enrolled in the Libby Public Schools until the ninth grade.

When he reached 18 he left home and lived with friends in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  While there he worked various jobs for about 1-1/2 years.  He moved to Auburn, Wash., to work and be with his mother.

Bryce loved being in and around big cities.  He worked various jobs in both Auburn and Seattle.

While working in Seattle, he discovered he had a passion for carpentry and construction.  Both his boss and fellow workers appreciated his work ethics.

Bryce’s mother moved to Rochester, Wash., from Auburn.  Eventually, he joined her there.  While in Rochester, he worked for and earned a GED.  He and all of his family were very proud of this accomplishment.

When Bryce’s Seattle boss moved to Fairfax Calif., he phoned Bryce and urged him to come there for employment and to further his education.

Bryce was reluctant to first do so, but after several phone calls of encouragement, he relented and moved to Fairfax.  Once established, he resumed carpentry jobs.

After being in Fairfax for six months, he moved to San Rafael, Calif. Here he began college classes at Marin County Community College intending to pursue a degree in psychology.

He also did carpentry work and started a business known as High End Demo to Detail.  These pursuits were being accomplished until the time of his unexpected death.

Survivors include his father, Dan Burns, of Troy, Mont.; mother, Juanita Adams, of Olympia, Wash.; sister, Danita Jordan, Troy, Mont.; brothers, Alan Burns, of Rochester, Wash., Andrew Burns, San Francisco, Calif.; and his puppy girl, Steveny.

Bryce also is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

A  Memory Day will be held at Fireman’s Park in Libby on Sunday, May 27 from noon to 3 p.m., for friends and all who wish to attend.

At 5 p.m. a private graveside service will be held at Milnor Lake Cemetery, Troy, Mont., for family and close friends by invitation only.
