Riverfront Blues Festival Aug. 10, 11

| July 27, 2012 9:56 AM

The great sounds of rhythm and blues will once again echo off the majestic mountains framing the beautiful Kootenai Valley in Libby, as the Fourth Annual Riverfront Blues Festival kicks off Aug. 10 and 11 at Riverfront Park.

It will be a great couple of days of blues, beer and barbecue.

Music begins at 6 p.m. Friday and concludes midnight Saturday.

This popular festival, always the second weekend in August, rocks the banks of the beautiful Kootenai River with a world-class line-up of entertainment.

Blues fans can get their groove on Friday night with Kevin Van Dort, followed by Lisa Mann and Kevin Selfe and the Tornadoes will close the evening out.

Things will kick up Saturday with local favorites Alan Lane and Frank Chiaverini followed by an evening of music all the way up to midnight with the All-Star Jam from 11 p.m. to midnight.

Concert-goers will be able to kick back by the water in the sunshine or relax in the shade of the impressive, log Riverfront Park Fred Brown Pavilion as they enjoy the best blues in the area.

Other musicians scheduled to play include Cryin’ Shame with Ken LaBarbera and Truck Mills, the Vicki Stevens Band and Nick Vigarino’s Meantown Blues. Tickets are available through the Website www.riverfrontbluesfestival.com/tickets.html
