Harpists to perform Aug. 23 at Christ Lutheran Church

| August 14, 2012 11:39 AM

The Heavenly Harp duo, featuring harpists Karin and Joy Gunderson, will be performing a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Christ Lutheran Church, 200 W. Larch Street.

Joy Gunderson, at 11, was already performing the Handel Harp Concerto; and now at age 21, as one of the top three harpists in the Phoenix, Ariz., metro area, plays with professional mastery and sensitivity that will truly inspire.

Joy Gunderson has just finished her junior year at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., where she won the Philharmonia Concerto competition and studies harp with the Minnesota Orchestra.

Harpist Kathy Kienzle has won numerous awards in teaching harp.

Enjoy a combination of harp duets, solos, inspirational stories from Karin’s work as a hospice harpist and peaceful music featuring  flute, and vocals along with harp.

“Heaven can’t be much more beautiful than this.” said a recent concert-goer.

There is no admission charge. However, offerings are accepted.

For more information, contact (church phone) or view their Website www.HeavenlyHarp.org. CDs and DVDs will be available.
