Christine Hickman will join St. John’s Lutheran Hospital this week as the new Surgical Services Manager.

“I have worked in both large teaching institutions and small organizations,” Hickman said. “I can tell you in my opinion, smaller is better.”

Previously, Hickman worked as the Acute Care Manager for two inpatient-surgical units at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Hickman began her career in medicine at 18 years old as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She has 26 years of experience working in surgery and 12 years in management.

Hickman and her husband Kim enjoy time spent attending to their animals. The couple raises Morgan horses and care for six rescued dogs whom Hickman says, “rule the house.” She also has four adult children.

“I want people in the community to be aware of the steps St. John’s has taken to improve the quality of care in the area,” Hickman said. “The staff here is second to none.”

The level of care offered at SJLH impresses Hickman. She understands the needs associated with providing quality-surgical care.
