Letter to the Editor,

This is a note to say thank you to all those who helped with the McCormick VFD fundraiser on September 10.

The children had fun playing games and winning prizes, especially when it came to playing with the fire hoses! (Hopefully, the hotdogs and goodies helped to keep up their energy).

The evening provided a raffle, silent auction, and some great music for dancing from local artists.

The fundraiser could never have happened without so much support from the community and surrounding area. The Stateline was the gracious host, the Troy VFD brought out a truck to replenish ours with water for the games, and the Forest Service took time out of their busy season to bring Smokey the Bear.

Music was provided by Alan Lane, Back Adit, and The Meadow Blasters.

On top of this there were many individuals who contributed time and helped with setting up and organizing and sometimes just giving much needed helpful advice.

A big thank you also goes to many of the local businesses that were willing to donate items for the prizes, raffles, and auction, especially in these pressing times. We couldn’t have done it without you.

It was a community effort and McCormick is grateful to all the businesses and individuals who were responsible for making the benefit a success.
