Dorothy M. Coon

Dorothy M. Coon, 73, a lifelong resident of Troy died Tuesday June 7, 2011, at her home near Troy from natural causes. 

She was born in Billings, Mont., to Spencer and Mildred Staton Munyan on Feb.  21, 1938. 

At a very early age her family moved to Troy.  She attended Central Grade School near the state line and Troy High School. 

She married Ted Coon on June 2, 1956, in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. 

They made their home near Troy where they raised  three daughters.  She enjoyed being outdoors, getting wood with Ted, and decorating for the holidays. 

Her husband, Ted, a grandson Ricky, siblings Edith, Ralph, Chet, Lois, and Kenny all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children Sheila Mullon and husband Bob of Troy, Mont., Karen Peyer a husband Larry of Moscow, Idaho.; Marsha Stindt of Troy, Mont.; a brother Pat Munyan of Troy, Mont.; four grandchildren Lynn, Tony, Travis and Adam.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 11, 2011, at Milnor Lake Cemetery in Troy. 

A reception will follow at the home of Herb and Linda Gregory at 431 Forest Dr. in Troy.  

Local arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
