Eileen I. Vaughn

Eileen I. Vaughn, 91, of Libby died Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Libby Care Center from natural causes.  Eileen was born Sept. 4, 1918 in the oil fields near Sperry, Okla., to Robert and Elizabeth Sawyer Hale. Her early years were spent in Sperry, Okla. At age 12, she moved to Missouri where she attended high school.

Eileen married Lawrence Vaughn on April 14, 1940 in Stockton, Mo. They moved to Big Timber in 1946 where they lived until Lawrence’s death in 1994. Eileen then moved to Libby to be near family.

Eileen enjoyed embroidery, reading and cooking. Her family was very important to her. Her husband, Larry; a son; a granddaughter; two brothers; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Jerry Cosgriff, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Cosgriff of Libby; son, Robert Vaughn of Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren, Edward Cosgriff, David Cosgriff and wife Stacey – all of Libby; and Amy Cosgriff of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., on Thursday, April 1 at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Services will be Wednesday, April 7 at 2 p.m., at Faith Bible Church, 239 Education Way, in Libby.
