Phyllis Joy Teschler

Phyllis Joy (Armstrong) Teschler, 88, former Libby resident, died March 5, 2010, in Billings.

She was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Ventura, Iowa, the third child of Jane Mae Griffith and James Leroy Armstrong. She married Howard Teschler on Jan. 2, 1942 in New Haven, Mich. While her husband went off to fight in World War II, she worked as a hospital aide.

After the war, the couple moved to Montana. Their first daughter, Linda, was born in Miles City and their next daughter, Ellen, and their son, Jim, were born in Fort Benton. Her husband later returned to school and got his degree and the family moved to Libby, and then to Cincinnati, Ohio where Howard died.

Mrs. Teschler moved to Michigan to care for her mother-in-law and then to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Nampa, Idaho and finally to Billings where she was cared for by the staff of Edgewood Vista.

She is survived by her daughters; sons-in-law, Michael and Patrick; granddaughters, Lynnet and Sarah; grandson, George; great-grandsons, Cole and Gavin; and many extended family members.

Cremation has taken place.
