A dumpster site

at Savage Lake has been selected for fencing to help protect

bears.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services’ Wayne

Kasworm said about $9,500 was raised through a variety of

organizations and agencies.

“Sites fenced thus far include Yaak, Fourth of

July, Trego and Glen Lake,” Kasworm said. “We have suggested an

alternative site for the Cliffside dumpster site about 20 miles

south of Libby that has had chronic bear conflicts.”

Fundraising efforts will continue to provide

fencing at additional sites.
