Letter: Troy has hometown people that really care

| January 27, 2010 11:00 PM

Dear Editor:

I am writing this in response to “Troy needs officials to clean up our town” written by Frances Smith of Troy (Jan. 22 edition, page 4).

I must say that Troy does not need any “officials” to “clean up.” Troy needs to come together as a community and stand up for what we all know to be in the best interests of our beautiful little town. I believe that the November 2009 election jump-started us in the right direction.

Although we were not “allowed” to go to the polls and were forced to mail or deliver our ballots to the Lincoln County Courthouse, the people cast their votes for Troy.

Mr. Banning has a tough road ahead, but I believe that he has Troy and its fine citizens on the front burner.  Give the power back to the people, transparency, and smaller government – less officials cleaning up the town … more hometown people who care about our community.

I want our new council to know that they all have my full support and may God bless them. Mrs. Fran McCully, Mr. Phil Fisher and Mr. Gary Rose are all born and raised here in our gorgeous little valley by the river. These three people live, breathe, and die – Troy, Mont. These three people went to school, raised their kids and buried their loved ones here in Troy, Mont. I trust them to do the right thing for our town and I know that they care like I care.

Carene Cratty
