Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Troy

plans to participate in the Compassionate Friends’ 14th annual

Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 12.

The event – organized for bereaved

families who have lost children – will begin at 6:30 p.m.

All parents and loved ones who have

lost children are welcome to come, support and receive support from

others who have suffered losses, share remembrances, listen to

music and a few readings.

The event is non-denominational.

Refreshments will be served afterward.

The church is located at 218 E.

Missoula Ave. (Highway 2 across from the Cenex gas station).

Hundreds of such services will be held

around the globe in remembrance of all children who have died.

Thousands more will hold informal gatherings in homes and other

locations.

The Compassionate Friends, with nearly

630 U.S. chapters, is the nation’s largest self-help bereavement

organization for families going through the grieving process after

the death of a child. Those remembering children also have the

opportunity during the event to post their thoughts in a

“Remembrance Book” on TCF’s national website or on Troy’s site on

Facebook.
