Lapka makes all-state softball

Libby High School’s Nicky Lapka earned a spot on the Class A All-State softball team.

Lapka, leadoff batter and shortstop during her senior season for the Lady Loggers, is also a first-team all-conference pick with along with pitcher Candace Hendrickson.

Others from Libby on the Western A all-conference squad were sophomore Alysha Martin at outfielder on the second team and freshman Lexi Hageness, who played catcher for LHS, as honorable mention. Hendrickson, sophomore, was listed in a utility player spot.

Two Trojans on all-conference team

Troy High School’s Kimmy Klin and Megan Cummings were both included as honorable mention picks on the Western B-C all-conference softball team.

Klin, who had the top batting average on the team, played catcher for the Lady Trojans. Cummings played in the infield, primarily and shortstop, and batted No. 2 in the lineup.
