Mary Jane Blinco

Mary Jane Blinco, 84, a former Libby resident, died from natural causes on Friday, June 5, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Nursing Home in Kalispell.

She was born Oct. 22, 1924 in Aurora, Wis., to Arthur and Geneive Akey Bertrand – the seventh of 10 children. She grew up and attended school in Iron Mountain, Mich. At age 15 she moved with her family to Idaho where she met Leslie Blinco.

They were married at Camp Pendleton, Calif., on May 23, 1941. She moved with her family to Libby in 1952.

Mrs. Blinco enjoyed embroidery work and picnicking. Her husband and a son, Roger, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Brown and husband Gene of Kennewick, Wash.; Vernon Blinco and wife Caroline of Billings; Tom Blinco of Libby; Rose Greenwell of Burley, Idaho; Margaret Bucher and husband Larry of Kalis-pell; Nancy Fisher of Spokane, Wash.; Bruce Blinco and wife Tammey of Chinook; and Steve Blinco of Great Falls; brother, Jack Bertrand of Norwalk, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Gustafson of Riverside, Calif.; and Deloris Mardis of Carson, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for Friday June 12 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Libby. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Thursday with rosary at 7 p.m.

Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
