Logger cagers hit court on Friday

The Libby High School boys and girls basketball teams are scheduled to play their first games in the Northwestern A Divisional Tournament on Friday.

The tournament is being staged at Glacier High School in Kalispell.

On the boys’ side, the Loggers will play the winner of Polson vs. Bigfork at 4 p.m. Friday. Polson and Bigfork were scheduled to play Thursday afternoon in a game after the newspaper’s presstime.

The championship game for the boys is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed after going through the Northwestern A with an 8-2 record. Libby was second at 7-3.

The girls will play Friday against the winner of a Thursday matchup between Bigfork and Ronan. The Lady Loggers’ first tourney game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

The girls championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday.

Libby entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed in the girls’ field. The Lady Loggers compiled an 8-2 record over the course of the conference season.

Columbia Falls earned the No. 1 seed with a 9-1 conference record.

Troy High School’s boys took to the court on Wednesday in the 6B-7B Divisional Tournament at Pablo. The game was played after the newspaper’s deadline.

Win or lose, the Trojans would take to the court again on Thursday. The tournament continues Friday with consolation games and Saturday with the championship game and third-place game.

Troy’s girls did not qualify for the divisional tournament.
