Howard C. Price Sr.

Howard C. Price Sr., longtime resident of Libby, died in his sleep in Washington on the morning of Jan. 10, 2009.

He was born Jan 28, 1935 in Issaquah, Wash., the only boy among five sisters. He grew up in the Seattle area, then left to join the Air Force. He raised his family in Washington state and then moved to Libby in 1989, where he resided until 2007 when health issues intervened.

Mr. Price worked on the Kootenai National Forest and made many friends. He had a diverse work life – milked a dairy herd at age 11, spent 11 years as a civilian plumber for the Air Force, worked in heating and air conditioning, truck driver, self-employed logger, supply manager for the Washington State House of Representatives and a Forest Service Engineering employee. 

He is survived by four of his sisters; daughters, Dody & Kathleen of Olympia, Wash., Eva Marie of Ione, Wash.; sons, Robert and Howard, Jr., also of Ione, Wash.; Bradley in Tennessee; and 14 grandchildren.
