Letter: Tones concert crowd benefits our community

| December 21, 2009 11:00 PM

Dear Editor:

It has been my privilege to work with the very talented musicians of our area for many years but never been prouder than I was last Sunday evening. Too often, I have been given credit for the success of such programs as the Treasure Tones concert on Dec. 13, when all the accolades belong to the wonderful performers.

They generously lend their time and talents to produce a highly professional, quality performance … just because I ask them. Kudos to Tony Smith and his Going-To-The-Sun Singers, Mick Shea and the Celebration Singers and to Lorraine Braun with her Children’s Select Choir and the Middle School Honors Choir, as well as my loyal, lovable Treasures Tones and Junior Tones.

However, the biggest thank you goes to the 500-plus folks who filled the Memorial Center to listen, applaud and donate for the benefit of our local food pantry. Your presence is greatly appreciated by the Tones and all those who benefit from your generosity. I am totally overwhelmed by the audience response to our concerts these past 45 years.

Thank you. You are a blessing to our community.
