Letter: Looking at provisions of health-care bill

| December 15, 2009 11:00 PM

Dear Editor:

Judging by her beaming smile when the health care bill passed the House, Nancy Pelosi must think it is on par with the Declaration of Independence.

Let’s look at some of its provisions:

• Health care provided to all non-U.S. citizens – illegal or otherwise.

• The government will have direct access to your bank account for elective funds transfer.

• Employees must pay health care for part-time employees and their families.

• Any individual without acceptable health care will be taxed 2.5 percent of income unless you are a nonresident alien, in which case you’re exempt.

These are just a few of the hundreds of the mandated provisions in this colossal government grab for power over our lives. If this thing becomes law, it will be an unmitigated disaster for the health and prosperity of the American citizen.
