Letter: Libby city clerk the one being harassed

| December 2, 2009 11:00 PM

Dear Editor:

Mr. D.C. Orr’s latest tirade over another city employee shows his true colors again. His new intimidation tactic is to file a restraining order against an employee that isn’t afraid to stand up to Mr. Orr’s bullying.

I worked with Glena Hook, the City Clerk at the City of Libby, for about two years and found her to be of the highest integrity. She works hard for all of us. I’ve never, ever witnessed her to be violent or even exceedingly angry.

To file a restraining order stating that he is in fear of her shows how much he is still out of control. Glena is a sweet lady who tries to look out for the taxpayers of Libby. That includes making sure Mr. Orr pays his city business license. Somehow Mr. D.C. Orr believes he’s above the law and doesn’t need to do that. A few years ago a previous clerk requested he pay for water he had been “borrowing” and he verbally attacked her.

Mr. D.C. Orr has a long history of attacking and bullying others who disagree with him.  I truly hope the city council will do the right thing and protect all city employees from harassment from the likes of him.  It is their job to provide a safe work environment for employees, free from fear and intimidation.

On the other hand, I must admit, that in a battle of wits between Ms. Hook and Mr. Orr, I’m sure he would need the restraining order to protect himself.
