Libby Wrestling Club dominates invitational

The Libby Wrestling Club dominated on Saturday at the Northwestern Invitational in Kalispell.

“The team easily outscored every other team at the event to capture the freestyle overall team championship,” Coach Vic Crace said. “The team had five individual champions on Saturday. With state just next weekend, the team has definitely sent a message that they will be a force to be reckoned with.”

Libby winners included Garret Chapel (Novice 100), Zach Crace (Schoolboy 91), Michael Dennison (Schoolboy 144), Eric Thrift (Schoolboy 160) and Mitch Haugen (Cadet 125).

In the Greco-Roman portion of the tournament on Sunday, Libby had four individual champions – Zach Crace (Schoolboy 91), Thrift (Schoolboy 160), Haugen (Cadet 119) and Austin Bailey (Cadet 152).
