Ralph T. Swimley

Ralph T. Swimley, 79, of Libby died from natural causes on Sunday, April 12, 2009 in Libby.

He was born May 11, 1929 in Epping, N.D. to Clarence and Elanor Notman Swimley. At age 12, his family moved to Libby. He graduated from Libby High School in 1947.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He married Lorraine Patrick in Newark, N.J. She preceded him in death. He married Pat Bundrock on Oct. 1 1969 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He worked for J. Neil’s Lumber Co. subsequently St. Regis Paper Co., and Champion International, retiring in 1990.

Mr. Swimley enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golf, traveling and his kids and grandkids. He instilled the love of the outdoors in his children.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Swimley of Libby; children, Bruce Swimley and wife Arlene of Billings; Robert Swimley and wife Kathy of Spring Creek, Nev.; Robin Swimley and wife Carol of Libby; Keith Swimley and Brian Swimley – both of Troy; Dan Bundrock and wife Trish of Libby; Dave Bundrock and wife Vicky of Spring Creek; Paula Bundrock of Marion; sister, Helen Peterson of Libby; brother, Hugh Swimley and wife Alison of Sun City West, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
