Letter: Getting word out on breast cancer

Dear Editor:

Today, I called around to the stores in town to see if they had breast cancer ribbons for sale in their stores.

I was told they were not carrying them. I asked if they knew October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I was told they were not aware of this.

The reason I'm writing this is I had a right mastectomy on July 3 of this year and I was not aware of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. How sad is that? So I'm sending out the word to Libby.
