The Libby Loggers will be offering an instructional kids baseball camp on Saturday, April 12.

“It's a good opportunity for the younger baseball players - the boys and girls can interact with the older players,” said Libby Legion baseball head coach Kelly Morford.

“It's also a good opportunity for our kids to show some of the stuff they've learned.”

Morford said the players and coaches teach throwing and hitting mechanics as well as base running and basic infield and outfield skills.

Senior player Ryan Stapley helped teach at the camp two years ago.

“It's a chance for the kids to learn the program when they're young so they learn to enjoy baseball,” he said, adding it's also a good way for the community to get involved with the program.

According to Morford, 35 children attended their first year, which he hopes to improve upon this year.

In order to maximize instructional time, the camp will consist of two different age groups.

The cost of the camp is $20, which includes a camp T-shirt.

Registration forms may be picked up at any Libby school or downloaded from the Web site: www.libbyloggersbaseball.com .
