The Kootenai Rapids U-15 team claimed first in the Montana Cup on June 7 and 8 in Helena, while the Kootenai Rapids U-13 teams took third.

The U-15 team in its first game defeated Belgrade 2-0.

Greg Lundin made both goals with an assist from Daniel Webster for one of them.

The next game against Polson ended in a 1-1 tie with the Rapids’ solo goal from Lundin.

The Rapids then defeated Belgrade 5-1.

Lundin, Cree Maloney, Marco Vences and Daniel Webster made goals, with Lundin assisting on two.

The Rapids defeated Livingston 2-0 in the championship game.

Maloney and Lundin each scored a goal for their team.

The U-13 Rapids team beat Flathead Force in its first game 3-2, with goals made by Talus Martin and Barak Lapka.

Losses of 3-0 to Magic City and 5-1 to Livingston followed.

The Rapids were the only team over the weekend to score a goal against Livingston - The lone goal for the Rapids was a penalty kick by Martin.

“The Rapids teams played well all weekend despite the very bad weather conditions and strong winds they just kept on fighting for the wins,” said Stephanie Lundin, team manager. “A big thanks to the defense and the goalies that were a big part of making it possible for the offense to score the goals. We want to congratulate all the Rapids players and their coaches for a great season.”
