There were no injuries reported in a structure fire at 240 Vicks Lane on Friday afternoon in Libby.

The owner/occupant of the doublewide mobile home, an adult female, was home at the time of the fire, which occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m.

Unattended candles were the cause of the fire that caused approximately $10,000 in damages, according to Libby Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Marshal Steve Lauer. There was fire and smoke damage.

The fire was confined primarily to the living room area of the home and 24 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene, Lauer said. Fire fighters were on scene for approximately one hour, Lauer continued.

Libby Volunteer Ambulance was dispatched to the scene, however no transports to medical facilities were necessary, Lauer added.

There were smoke alarms in the home, which alerted the homeowner to the fire. The homeowner also had animals in the home and all were safely removed, Lauer said.
