Dora E. Jahnke

| January 10, 2008 11:00 PM

Dora E. Jahnke was born on Jan. 22, 1920 in Brusett, Mont. to Earl and Elvira Stanton. She passed away on Jan. 7, 2008.

Dora lived on the ranch/farm in Brusett. She worked the family ranch along with cooking and waiting tables until 1956 when she and her husband Gordon Price, and children moved to Troy.

In Troy she was known for her restaurant skills and running her own restaurant "Bill and Dora's Cafe." She would always make sure no one went without a meal, even a few of the railroad hobos.

She took in over 30 children and gave them a roof over their heads and food to eat, along with her own eight children.

She was well known as "Mom" by most, and her famous cinnamon rolls by all. Dora always said, "If she didn't have all those children, she wouldn't have anything to look forward too in life." It was one of her greatest accomplishments.

There are not enough words to describe how much Dora meant to us or how much she will be missed. She was truly loved by all.

Survivors include her eight children: Gordon Price Jr. of Troy, Alma (Price) Basham and her husband Jay of Troy, Clayton Price and his wife Bonnie of Troy, Shorty Price and his wife Janine of Troy, Melba (Price) Wiggins and her husband Rob of Midvale, Idaho, Martene (Price) Peterson and her husband Tom of Winnemucca, Nev., Twila (Jahnke) Berenger and her husband Bob of Winnemucca, Nev., Jeanette (Hoover) Craig and her husband Neil of Claries Fork, Idaho; and many many grandchildren, great-grand children, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at the Troy Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14 with family, friends and Pastor Gene Bushnell officiating.

Family and friends viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13. at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby
