Quite the scare tactics

The August 2007 issue of IMPRIMIS presents an article, "Global Warming: Man Made or Natural" by Dr. S. Fred Singer, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Sciences, University of Virginia.

Dr. Singer addresses a number of circumstances of global weather changes to which man has contributed very little, and will have essentially no effect on the cyclical changes taking place.

There is very specific evidence of a number of periods of glaciation and subsequent warming just in Northwest Montana. "Glacial Lake Missoula and Its Humongous Floods" by David Alt describes obvious physical/visible evidence of these glaciation periods in Northwest Montana. Scoured canyon rocks and huge boulders on valley floors, as well as high water marks are visible in many places. These were carried by glaciers and left behind as melting/warming occurred.

The real issue to be acknowledged and accepted is that global warming/climate change is a phenomenon that has repeated itself throughout the earth's history and seems to have started yet another cycle.

It is very important, and everyone's responsibility, to be caring, concerned and good stewards of our environment and our world. However, we feel that the ultimate goal of this worldwide "global warming" hysteria is to generate "big business" that will eventually result in stifling rules, regulations and restrictions, as well as crippling expenses, with few, if any perceptible benefits.
