LCSO asks for help with fuel thefts

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is seeking information in ongoing fuel thefts in the immediate Libby area. The thefts are primarily diesel fuel taken from heavy equipment parked at area businesses.

Losses are frequently in the hundreds of gallons with values in the thousands of dollars. The thefts have all occurred during hours of darkness. Several businesses are now utilizing video monitoring of their fleets in an attempt to photograph the suspects.

Any heavy equipment left unattended at night should be parked in such a manner that the fuel tanks are not readily accessible.

Anyone having information regarding this, or any major crime is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 293-STOP.
