| February 5, 2008 11:00 PM

Aaron McKay, 56, a former resident of Libby, died Jan. 17, 2008, in Puyallup, Wash. Aaron was born Jan. 9, 1952, in Big Timber, Mont., to Pat and June McKay. He moved to Libby in 1964 with his family, where he attended junior and senior high school.

After graduation in 1970, Aaron cooked at various restaurants in the area. Later he attended college in Havre and Portland, Ore. before moving to California where he worked as a chef for many years. Aaron returned to the Northwest in 1999 where he resided with his sister Debbie in Puyallup. He remained on the west side of the mountains to avoid the winters because he hated the snow.

In recent years his passion was genealogy. Being disabled, he spent many hours in front of his computer researching the family's history.

Aaron is survived by his parents Pat and June McKay of Spokane, Wash.; brother Jim McKay and his wife Lindsay of Frenchtown; sister Barbara Bush and her husband Shan and sister Trish Bush and her husband Mitch - all of Spokane, Wash., and sister Debbie Davis and her husband Doug of Puyallup. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Aaron's family gathered in Spokane, at the Big House, Jan. 19-20 to honor his memory.
