The Christmas spirit continues this week with more holiday-related events in Libby and Troy.

One of the biggest activities will no doubt be the St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees on Friday and Saturday at the Memorial Center in Libby.

On Friday, the event’s Festival Community/Family Night will feature the hospital auxiliary’s craft and bake sale, and chili and cornbread dinner from 3-7:30 p.m. From 5-8 p.m., activities will feature the Kootenai Karacters as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Santa’s elves, face painting, a train display, ornament making and story time. Professional photographers will also be on hand.

Admission to Friday’s activities is free. The chili/cornbread dinner is $3.50.

On Saturday, the Festival of Trees’ Holiday Fundraising Gala is slated to run from 6 p.m.-midnight at the Memorial Center. The celebration features dancing to the music of Bryan Lloyd, hors d’oeuvres, no-host cocktails, auctions, raffles and more.

Tickets ($40) are available at the St. John’s Lutheran Hospital front desk. Money raised from the event will go toward the hospital’s new building project. For information, call 293-0106 or 293-0187.

Over in Troy on Saturday afternoon, Santa Claus will make an appearance from 1-3 p.m. at Stein’s Marketplace. The Troy PTA is hosting the event.

And on Sunday in Libby, the Treasure Tones Christmas Concert will be staged at the Memorial Center at 7 p.m., to benefit the food pantry. For details, see the Tunin’ In section on pages 9-10.
