| September 5, 2007 12:00 AM

Logger boys crush Belgrade 5-0 on Friday.

Riley Hoyer opened his senior season with a hat trick against Belgrade. Scoring the lone goal in the first half, Hoyer took a pass from Kyle Berke and drove it home for a 1-0 lead at half.

"We were dominating the field," Coach Wickstrom stated. "And demonstrated our strength in the second half."

Hoyer scored again 9 minutes into the half and again 14 minutes later. Logger defense held strong, led by a strong performance from Dustin Morningstar. Midfielders Matt Wickstrom, Cryus Maloney, and Evan May kept winning and distributing balls to the forwards. At 65 minutes Evan May scored, heading the ball into the net from a perfect cross pass from Cyrus Maloney. Libby closed out the scoring in the 78th minute as Kyle Berke drove the game closing goal past the Belgrade goal keeper.

Logger boys lose to Livingston on Saturday.

In a match of pitched control, Logger boys out shot the Livingston Raiders 12-5. The Loggers had a missed penalty shot and at least two shots off the cross bar, and couldn't find the net to climb into the match.
