Troy celebrates senior night

| October 19, 2007 12:00 AM

Winning their first two games against Stillwater, the Lady Trojans let their lead slip away, losing in five games during Senior Night in Troy last Friday night.

Coach Sandra Jansma remained upbeat.

"We've come a long way as a team," she said. "We depend on one another. We have five seniors on the team and it's their last season. As long as our offense is working well, we'll do fine."

Senior Liz Straley made 23 of the 24 assists, as well as leading in aces, making 6 out of the 28.

The 2 blocks for the Lady Trojans were made by Seniors Megan Etienne and Delsey Olds. Olds also led in kills, making 10 of the 26.

Coach Jansma praised Sophomore Mary Bass's performance at the game, noting

"Mary Bass has stepped up as our Labero."

Bass led in digs with 11 of the 29 total for Troy.
