Loggers take a homecoming victory

In a battle of Northwestern A's unbeaten, the Loggers left no doubt.

The Libby High School football team routed Whitefish 48-7 in the homecoming game Friday night, improving to 3-0 in conference and 6-1 overall.

The Loggers, whose only loss came from a forfeit, led 41-0 at halftime and 48-0 after three quarters as Jeremy Chumley rumbled for 104 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 carries.

Joel Fuller completed 10 of 16 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, while running for 61 yards and another score.

Seth Wright scored on a 54-yard reception as Libby led 7-0 after 80 seconds. He finished with three recptions for 85 yards, while Zack Rowan hauled in four catches for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Whitefish, which fell to 2-1 in conference and 2-5 overall, scored with one minute remaining on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Alex Elespuru to Byron Whitcomb.

Matt Starr led the Bulldogs with 50 yards rushing, while Whitcomb made three catches for 21 yards.
