Forrest A. Ekstedt

Forrest A. (Punk) Ekstedt, 61, of Libby, died Sept. 26, 2007 near Eureka. He was born in Trout Creek.

Ekstedt was the fourth child of Clarence and Emma Lou Ekstedt on Dec. 9, 1945 and was raised on the Vermillion River, attending school at Trout Creek and Arlee. During his life, he worked as a meat cutter and logger and later for the Job Corps in Centralia, Wash.

Forrest was a family cornerstone, being remembered by them as a "True Story Teller" and a tease; his special love was going to the cafe and the VFW Club and teasing "his girls" and enjoying conversation with his friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as his skills in carpentry and woodworking.

Survivors include a son, Anthony Lambdin of Missoula; and his siblings, Trueman (Tim) Ekstedt and his wife Joanne Kyress of Libby; Don Ekstedt and his wife Ellen of Pasadena, Calif.; Evon Ekstedt Sizemore and her husband Forrest of Libby; Carl Ekstedt and his wife Lois of Missoula; and Charles "Chuck" Ekstedt of Libby; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering was held Saturday at the Tim Ekstedt residence in Libby. Arrangements are by Nelson & Vial Funeral Homes & Crematory.
