George P. Boyle

George P. Boyle, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 21 in Libby. He was born Aug. 25, 1931 in Reedsport, Ore. to George and Florence (Collins) Boyle. George was raised and educated in Oregon and Washington.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a mechanic, returning to the family farm in Washington state following his honorable discharge.

He had worked extensively throughout his life as a carpenter in the construction business. He worked in the merchant marines for three years, working in Vietnam and also had worked on many major construction projects throughout the northwestern United States including the construction of the aluminum plant in Columbia Falls. In 1975, he became disabled, retiring from construction. The family resided at Snohomish, Wash. until coming to the Troy area in 1991.

George was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and most particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann of Troy; his children, Monty Boyle of Bellingham, Wash., Brenda Boyle of Marysville, Wash., and Angie Boyle-Roeder and her husband Brian of Troy, sisters Josephine Enright and husband Paul of Ketchikan, Alaska, Barbara Robinson of Lynnwood, Wash., and Irene Westerland of Bothell, Wash.; and grandchildren Brianna, Mackenzie, Riley, Matt and Tom.

Private services and burial were held in Troy this week. Arrangements are under the care of Nelson & Vial Funeral Homes & Crematory.
