Ryan J. Johnston

Ryan J. Johnston, 27, of Libby, died Monday of injuries received in a vehicle accident near Libby.

Ryan was born in Medford, Ore. to Roger and Darlene Johnston on Dec. 5, 1979 and came to Libby with his family in 1992 where he attended school.

He was a skilled carpenter and welder, working both for Evey Construction and Montana Machine and Fabrication in Libby.

Ryan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and he most especially enjoyed camping.

He is remembered by family and friends for always being there and willing to "help out" wherever he could and for his uncanny ability to fix anything mechanical or otherwise.

Ryan was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Reagan Christine in September 2006 and by his mom and dad.

He is survived by his wife Teresa; his children, Rylie and Reece and step-children Levi, Logan and Colton; his brothers, Rex Johnston, Roger Johnston and wife Cindy and Richard (Rik) Johnston and his wife Dawn; his sisters, Rebecca Robertson and Rochelle Johnston; his mother and father-in-law, Bev and Don Shaw as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 11a.m. at the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel with interment services following at the City of Libby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the Elks Club, 220 W. 4th St., Libby.
