Let the kids play

| June 6, 2007 12:00 AM

To the Editor:

This letter is to all coaches and parents who participate in youth baseball. I say let the kids play, even if they don't wear their sponsored shirts. I had thought it was for the kids. But after my daughter was refused to play because she didn't wear her shirt, it became apparent it was for the adults more than the kids. Let me say, I was very upset and I apologize for my actions. But that does not excuse the coach. What right do you have to pull a child out? Is image more important than the kids? Also, if what you say about no shirt, no play is true , why was I not informed at the start of the season, but with only two games left to go. My time is important with working all day, then rushing home with 30 or less minutes to get the kids there.

Someone needs to get a brain and use it. I hope next year, you coaches will think of the children's feelings more than your own, and let them play.
