Don Riggleman

John D. "Don" Riggleman, 72, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Libby.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1934, in Avondale to Herbert and Elsie Riggleman.

Don came to western Montana with his family, graduating from Troy High School in 1952.

He graduated in 1956 with a bachelor's in mining engineering from the School of Mines in Butte, now Montana Tech.

Following college, Don served in the U.S. Air Force until being honorably discharged in November 1959.

He returned to western Montana, working for W.R. Grace & Co. as a research engineer and drymill supertintendant from 1959 to 1978. Don did consulting work in Salt Lake City from 1978 to 1985 and in Spartanburg, S.C., before returning to Montana.

Don and his wife, Patricia, lived in Bozeman and Bigfork before returning to Libby in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 1996, and a son, Thomas.

Don is survived by his children, Leigh Riggleman of Libby, Michael Riggleman and his wife, Linda, of Missoula, and David Riggleman and his wife, Dawna, of Cusick, Wash.; stepmother Gwen Riggleman of Libby; brothers Clyde Riggleman of Missoula, Howard Riggleman of Allyn, Wash., and Del Riggleman of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Eric, Abbie and Dana; and great-grandchildren Brandin, Walker and MacKenzie.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 19, at Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment services with military honors followed at the City of Libby Cemetery.
