COLA increase for county employees

Lincoln County Commissioners approved a cost of living allowance increase for elected county officials on Wednesday.

Lincoln County Commissioner Chairman Rita Windom, Commissioner John Konzen and Commissioner Marianne Roose met with the Lincoln County Compensation Board regarding the increases and voted to adopt the recommendations made by the compensation board.

A recommended increase of 4.2 percent will be applied to salaries retroactively as of July 1, 2007. The increase is awarded as a cost of living allowance.

Base salaries were set as follows: clerk and recorder, $38,840.09; treasurer, $38,840.09; clerk of court, $38,840.09; commissioners, $40,840.09; sheriff, $40,840.09; superintendent of schools (half-time), $19,420.05; justice of the peace, dist. 1, $38,840.09; and justice of the peace, dist. 2 (half time), $19,420.05.
