Mary Risley

Mary Janett Risley, 85, of Liberty Lake, Wash., and formerly of Libby, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.

She was born March 29, 1921, in Libby to the late Frank and Mary Pival, the youngest of their six children.

Mary moved to Spokane in 1955, where she raised her children.

She was a librarian and homemaker before retiring from Washington Water Power in 1987 after 26 years.

Mary was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church and WWP Trail Blazers.

She enjoyed yard work and collecting family heirlooms.

Her absolute passion was her Catholic faith and spending time with family and friends.

Mary also was preceded in death by her sisters, Millie Wollaston and Trudy Wood, and brothers, Paul and Ray Pival.

She is survived by a daughter, Anne Allison; a son, Paul Risley, and his wife, Barb; grandchildren, Jeff Allison and his wife, Rachael, Kevin Risley and his wife, Marin, Matt Risley, and Jodi Moore and her husband, Neil; great-granddaughters Shelby and Lilly Allison, and Diana Moore, all of Spokane; a sister, Helen Gardner of Lomita, Calif.; many relatives from Libby; several nieces and nephews; long-time friend and neighbor Bessie Kallas; and numerous other friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Nov. 30, at St. Paschal Catholic Church in Spokane. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paschal Catholic Church or the charity of one's choice

Hennessey Valley Funeral Home in Spokane Valley handled arrangements.
