David Moles

David R. Moles, 70, a former resident of Libby, died Monday, March 6, 2006, in Sublimity, Ore.

He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Watson, Mo., and grew up in Scotts Mills, Ore.

He began work as an appliance repairman and in 1964 moved to John Day where he worked for Ford Motor Company. In 1970 he opened Moles Appliance in Keizer, Ore.

He moved to Montana in 1984 where he found much pleasure in building drift boats. He returned to Oregon in 1996, settling in Bend and opening another appliance store.

He loved spending time with his family doing what he enjoyed most — fishing, hunting, golfing and snow skiing. David returned to the Willamette Valley in 1999. He had been a member of the Keizer Elks and the Chamber of Commerce. He had attended Keizer Faith Lutheran Church and most recently was a member of Silverton First Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deanna of Sublimity, Ore.; children Carol Thompson and Donald Moles of John Day, Ore., David Moles of Bend, Ore., Connie Tolle of Burns, Ore., Timothy Moles of Sumpter, Ore., and Scott Moles of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers Richard Moles of Silverton, Ore., and Raymond Moles, Rex Moles and Randy Moles, all of John Day; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Silverton First Christian Church.
