Mary Jane 'Janey' Schreiber

Mary Jane "Janey" Schreiber, 63, died at her home in Plymouth, Vt., on Dec. 27, 2005.

She was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Englewood, N.J., the daughter of Robert Baird and Harriett Elisabeth (Woodruff) Mitchell.

Janey grew up in Ridgewood, N.J., and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1960. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1964 with a bachelor's degree in English.

In 1967, Janey fell in love with William Schreiber and although circumstances kept them apart, they were reunited in 1998 and their lives brought them to Plymouth, Vt., in April of 2000. Together Janey and Bill managed the Coolidge State Park and worked for Okemo Mountain Ski Resort in the winters. They were married on Aug. 15, 2004.

Janey lived in Yaak from 1998 until 2000 when she moved to Vermont.

Janey was an avid reader and had a great love of the outdoors. Janey's life was devoted to selflessly supporting and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Janey is survived by her husband William "Bill" C. Schreiber of Plymouth; her four children, Tiffany Berish of Sharon, Mass., Pete Corradino of Londonderry, Vt., Tara Gibbs of Rowley, Mass., and Mandy Harden of Plymouth, Mass.; and her four grandchildren Estelle, Jacob, Abigail and Peyton. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Mitchell of Wyckoff, N.J., and a sister, Anne Cobb of Annapolis, Md.

Funeral services were held at the Calvin Coolidge Church in Plymouth, Vt., on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Burial will be in the Plymouth Notch Cemetery in the spring.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, Vt.
