God bless teens involved in 'Meth: Not Even Once' campaign

To the Editor:

God bless all the teens who participated in the "Meth: Not Even Once" campaign.

Their hard work, creativity and valuable message was important to my family and the rest of the community.

God bless, also, the Thomas & Stacey Siebel Foundation for its grant, local sponsors and adult mentors who helped the teens. All of the money and time involved was very well spent.

The banners and signs opened a line of discussion for my children and me. My 7-year-old noticed the banners right away. He understood the message quite well.

After asking some relevant questions, his statement was right to the point. "Why would anyone ever do anything like that!"

My 11-year-old also took notice, and I had another opportunity to discuss the dangers of drug use with her.

I am grateful for such a clear message coming from teens. It is so meaningful for young children to know their older peers are against drug use, not just their "old" parents.

This campaign really does touch lives!
