Lorena Savage

Former Troy resident Lorena Willson Savage, 88, of Anacortes, died at her home on March 1, 2005.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1916, at Laclede, Idaho, to George and Eunice Moore Willson.

She graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane in 1936.

Lorena married Bill Savage on July 3, 1941.

While living in Troy she was active as a member and officer in the Order of Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron, and was also involved with the Business and Professional Women's Association, serving as treasurer.

After moving to Anacortes in 1980, Lorena participated in the work of the Anacortes Women's Club and Friends of the Library and the Anacortes Senior Center, which was her passion.

During 20 years at the senior center, Lorena was honored as volunteer of the year in the early 90's.

Lorena was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bill Savage.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Joanne Savage, Walla Walla, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law Judy and John Hart of Hereford, Ariz.; grandson Air Force 1st Lt. Bill Savage and his wife Fareshdeh, Spokane, and granddaughter Shannon Savage, Thousand Oaks, Calif.

A memorial service was conducted on Wednesday, March 9, at Evans Funeral Chapel. Friends were invited to share memories of Lorena and to sign the on-line guest register.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
