Dorothea Mason

Dorothea K. Mason, 72, of Troy died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Hospital from natural causes.

She was born Sept. 20, 1933 in San Francisco, Calif., to Albert and Dorothea Newmann Ruske. She grew up and attended school in San Francisco, Calif., and graduated from Balboa High School.

In 1952 she married Clyde Mason. They lived in San Francisco for a while where they had three children. They moved to Santa Jose where they had two more children. She worked for 25 years for the Raytheon Semiconductor in Sunny Vale, Calif., as a supervisor. In 1992 Dottie and Clyde moved to Montana and built their dream home on the Kootenai River.

Dottie loved shopping, sewing, and needlework. She was a life member of the Lady's Auxiliary #5514 in Troy and a volunteer for Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde and a son Daniel.

Survivors include four children Michael R. Mason Sr. and his wife Corrie of Troy; Patrick R. Mason of Troy; Tamera L. Franklin of Escalon, Calif.; Timothy R. Mason and wife Judy of Morgan Hill, Calif.; two brothers Albert Ruske and wife Joan of Calif.; Mick Meek of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters Joan Pitsch of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Carol Polston and husband Danny of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a mother-in-law Merle Curts of San Jose, Calif.; eight grandchildren — April, Michael Jr., Kiel, Cymoni, Clint, Ryan, Courtney, Shana and four great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Church of God in Troy. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Local arrangements are by the Nelson & Vial Funeral Home in Libby.
